A folder answers “where”. A Package answers “what is this for?”.

A folder is useful for putting files in a place. When a lease, photos, receipts and decisions need to remain understandable together, give the matter a Package.

The familiar problem

A well-named folder still cannot tell you why one quote replaced another.

Give this matter a clear story.

  1. 01

Ask what the files belong to: a move, a school year, a delivery or another matter.

  2. 02

Put the local files into Packtell without flattening useful folders.

  3. 03

Connect related external files from where they already live.

  4. 04

Add the explanation you would want to read later: source, purpose or decision.

  5. 05

Keep a clear version when you sign, submit or deliver.

Come back without starting from guesses.

You can answer both where the file is and why it belongs here.

Keep this in mind when you continue.

Ordinary folders can be enough for unrelated or temporary files. A Package can start with only the files and a name; details can be added later.

If a file will not open

If a file will not open, check its device or storage, access and selected version. A visible name alone does not make the contents available.
